Ker-ching … most people really do save online

Posted on

ATOC – the Association of Train Operating Companies – has said it really does pay to book cheap train tickets online, as most web-savvy shoppers find the right ticket at the right price.

Commenting on a Passenger Focus report into online ticket sales, ATOC said that millions of people save by using sites like to find cheap train tickets.

“The vast majority of the millions of people who travel by train each day get the right ticket for their journey”, ATOC said.

“There has been a big increase in cheap tickets bought online in recent years, as more and more people have been using the internet to get good value fares for their journey.”

What’s more, things could soon get even better for savvy fare seekers, as ATOC’s promised to help improve and simplify ticket-buying online and at station vending machines so more train-goers can find the cheapest ticket for their journey.

“We know that there are always improvements that can be made. That’s why we are continuing to work closely with the industry and Passenger Focus to ensure we make it as easy as possible for passengers to find the right ticket at the right price for their journey,” ATOC added.
