Go MAD and raise money for The Railway Children

Posted on

Go as mad as a March hare – and all in a good cause too. Join in the charity craziness on MAD Day (9 March 2012) and you could make a difference to a child on the streets.

We’ve teamed up with charity The Railway Children to help to keep street children safe – and you can get involved too by sharing your MAD fundraising ideas and photos with us.

Read on to learn more about The Railway Children and MAD Day, and find out how you can take part…

We’re going fundraising MAD this March, and we need your help. We’ve joined forces with The Railway Children to promote MAD Day- a whacky fundraising extravaganza, which will take place on 9 March 2012.

People throughout the UK will be pulling some crazy charity challenges and stunts on MAD Day – from having custard pie fights to bathing in baked beans – and you can join in the fundraising fun too. All you need to do is to share your MAD fundraising ideas and photos of your MAD Day event with us.

You can start sending us your MAD fundraising ideas now. Just tweet your suggestions to @redspottedhanky using the hashtag #GoMAD2012 or submit them to us via the Facebook app . And, once you’ve held your MAD Day event, you can submit your photos to us in the same way.

We’ll donate 10 loyalty points to The Railway Children for every fundraising idea that you send us and 100 loyalty points for every photo that we receive (up to a maximum of £500 in total). You’ll need to submit them before 12.00 p.m. on 23 March 2012 though, so make sure you get them in quickly.

Your ideas and photos will be shown on our Facebook app and we’ll let you know how much money we’ve raised at the end of the campaign. So get your thinking caps on and start submitting your ideas – and let your friends know about our campaign too.

Check our website for the full details (including terms and conditions) of the campaign. And don’t forget to arrange sponsorship or take round the collection tins at your event as well, so you can raise even more money on MAD Day.

The money will be going to a great cause. The Railway Children has been helping to protect children living on the streets in the UK, India and Africa since its launch in 1995. The charity works in partnership with local voluntary organisations to help brighter, safer futures for these children.

You can learn more about the work that The Railway Children is involved in on our website – and you can choose to donate your loyalty points to the charity throughout the year, as well as taking part in our MAD Day fundraising campaign.

Have you got any ideas for MAD Day fundraising events? Submit them to us via Twitter (using #GoMAD2012) or the Facebook Engage app.
