Posted on

With the weekend just around the corner that can only mean one thing – it’s time to announce the winners of our weekly competition. This Friday, 10 savvy commuters have won £10’s worth of redspottedhanky.com loyalty points by tweeting their tips to us at #RSH Guides, for us to share through foursquare. This week, we asked you for your favourite cultural hotspots in Oxford.

Read on for this week’s winning tips and find out where to go to grab a tipple at the best pubs in Oxford…

• Taking us just outside the city by the river, @fishcake555 took the first spot on our winner’s list this week with a top tip to cosy up in riverside pub The Trout that’s been a favourite haunt of the likes of Lewis Carroll and CS Lewis.

• For a more modern experience @SassyLou31 earned a spot with a great shout to curl up at the Cricketers Arms – a pub with a trendy cocktail bar feel, not to mention comfy seats, a real fire, pool table and friendly staff.

@jaffawine landed in the top ten this week with a great shout to wet your whistle at the Eagle & Child, a pub full of character that was once home to ‘The Inklings’ – a writing group that featured the likes of CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien.

• If you’re feeling a bit peckish, @constellationMe suggests a visit to The Royal Blenheim, where a pint comes with a pint of chips to keep you ticking over.

@inspiredscilly earned those loyalty points too this week with a tasty tip to while away the hours at the Grapes on George Street. This central pub boasts a long list of ciders and ales along with a mouth-watering menu of delicious grub.

• If an idyllic afternoon in a cosy pub is what you’re after, @hilsB tweeted a picture to let us know it has to be the Talkhouse Pub on Wheatley Road.

• If you’re looking for cocktails on a student budget, @StellaBStar sent us a sweet tip to stop by Bar Aroma.

@MaddalenaMad raked in the prize points this week with a great shout to spend an evening at The Bear Inn, a pub as lovely as the food is excellent.

@matthew19572001 passed on a hot tip to soak up the atmosphere at The Lamb and Flag, a fantastic old style pub with a lineup of great local ales to choose from.

• And pulling in the last of this week’s points, @JadeBowie1 sent a top tip to rub elbows with students, professors and the next big music talents at the Cape of Good Hope on Cowley Road.

Congratulations to this week’s winners – and thanks for all of your Twitter recommendations! If you didn’t win this week, don’t worry – you could win in next week’s competition.

Just don’t forget to tweet your tips to us at #RSH Guides, so you can be in with the chance of winning some redspottedhanky.com loyalty points next week.
