Take the train to London…for the Pig’s Ear Beer and Cider Festival
The charmingly named Pig’s Ear Beer and Cider Festival takes place between Tuesday 4 and Saturday 8 December and is ideal for getting you in the Christmas spirit. Pig’s ear is rhyming slang for beer and, with 200 plus beers on offer, you’ll certainly find plenty of different brews to sample.
There will also be a range of unique festival brews to try and the E. London bar will be celebrating a whopping nine new local Micros. Renowned bottled and foreign beer bars will be serving some exotic brews and there will be plenty of cider to enjoy. A selection of food stalls will ensure you’re well fed throughout and the festival is open from noon until 11pm every night, except for on Friday when the doors will stay open for an extra half hour!
Taking place at the Round Chapel, Powerscroft Road in Hackney, the festival is easy to get to. Book trains to London’s central stations then choose one of the eight buses or two train lines that will take you right into Hakney.
