Posted on

Wedding shows around Britian in 2013Is your wedding day fast approaching and you’ve still got to organise the shoes, dress, invitations, venue … everything? Panic not and put your inner bridezilla to rest: we’ve pulled together a list of the best wedding shows happening over the next few months. And they’re all just a cheap train ride away.

So get reading and plan your trip …

1. The National Wedding Show: 22-24 February in London

This is one of Britain’s biggest and most established wedding shows, featuring suppliers big and small from across the country. Whether you’ve just gotten engaged and are open to ideas or are looking for something specific, I’d be surprised if you couldn’t find it here so reserve your seat on a London-bound train now.

You’ll be able to have afternoon tea, sip on champagne, book a honeymoon, caterer or photographer and master the wedding planning process with the Inspiration Sessions which walk you through anything from budgeting your wedding to picking out the perfect cake.

And with the largest collection for wedding dresses in any one place to rifle through (some discounted on the day!), you’ll feel like Charlie after walking into the Chocolate Factory for the first time.

If you only have time to visit one wedding show, make it this one – especially if you have your heart set on a designer frock.

Can’t travel to London in February? Hop on a train to Birmingham from 1-3 March to catch it there!

2. The UK Wedding Shows at ExCel London: 16-17 February in London

Get some sustenance from the Coffee Bar and newly extended Champagne bar before hitting the 120 exhibition stands and watching a catwalk show of 2013’s most fashionable dresses in the massive ExCel exhibition centre in London.

Can’t get to London? UK Wedding Shows will take place from 9-10 February in Leeds and 16-17 March in Manchester for Northern brides-to-be.

3. The Vintage Wedding Fair: 24 February in London

Do you wish you were getting married in the roaring twenties, or perhaps the swinging sixties? The vintage theme has been massively popular for weddings in recent years, and this show is for anyone who wants to channel a bygone era.

Look at one-off vintage wedding dresses, pick out vintage crockery to hire for a tea party reception and discover some of the more unusual wedding ideas, like an old fashioned clown entertainer or a ukulele band.

4. The Premier Asian Wedding Show: 3 March in London

Rolling into London before popping up in Manchester and Leeds later on in the year, the Premier Asian Wedding Show is dedicated to showcasing suppliers and ideas to inspire Asian brides.

Book a band for a bhangra (a traditional Indian dance party), pick from the country’s best Indian food and cake caterers, be inspired by the saris on display at the catwalk shows and choose a mehndi artist for your henna tattoo.

5. The Scottish Wedding Show: 23-24 February in Glasgow

Getting married in Scotland or looking to incorporate a Scottish theme into your wedding? You might want to get the train to Glasgow, where the Scottish Wedding Fair is being hosted.

Get the ideas flowing at the Inspiration Theatre, find a local supplier you click with and admire lots of impressively swishy gowns on the catwalk.

To make a day of it, why not take a friend along and treat yourself to the £32 VIP ticket, which buys you a glass of bubbly, a naughty cupcake, a swanky VIP goodie bag and fast track entrance.

6. The Luxury Wedding Show

This exclusive peek at more upmarket suppliers is for brides with a big budget to splurge. Shows will be held in beautiful, carefully chosen venues dotted around England like the 5 star Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa in Bedfordshire (on 3 March) and the Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club in Wych Cross (on 24 March).

How are your wedding plans coming along? What shows will you be going to in the next few months?
