2014 Sporting Highlights

2014’s set to be another great year for sport. Whether you’re travelling to the city to watch England’s 2014 World Cup effort get under way, or heading up to Leeds to get involved with Stage 1 of the Tour de France, can help bring those costs down with winning discounts on everything from trains to hotel rooms!

Six Nations

2014’s first sporting travel opportunity sees fans heading to stadia in France, Italy and the UK. You’ll get cheap train tickets from, and we can take care of your hotels and car hire too. So where’s it to be? The Stadio Olimpico in Rome, the Stade de France in Paris, or one of the UK’s premier rugby venues? Wherever you choose to start your sporting year, expect big men battling for the pride of nations.

Grand National

Work yourself up into a lather at Aintree in April, and have a flutter on the most famous horse race in the world. This year’s Grand National includes a full three days’ worth of events: the Opening Day, Ladies’ Day, and of course the National itself – which takes place on Saturday April 5. This year’s National weekend includes a ton of extracurricular fun as well as three full days of racing. Expect live music, a festival atmosphere, and plenty of outstanding hats!

FA Cup Final

It’s a British institution, full of sporting drama. May 17 2014 sees the home of football open its gates for two as-yet-unnamed clubs from any division in the English Football Association. They’ll be fighting it out for the oldest and most romantic bit of silver in the business. Forget travelling halfway round the world to watch England sweat it out in a rainforest. This is the beautiful game at its beautiful best!

Following Andy Murray’s legendary victory last year, English tennis fans will be fighting tooth and nail to get those all-important Centre Court tickets. can’t help you with those, unfortunately (we’ll be entering the draw for our own chance at the strawberries and champers!), but we can cut the cost of train tickets to the big event. We’ve got ace deals on car hire and hotels too, for fans who want to make a week of it. Advantage you.

Tour de France

If you thought the Tour de France was an exclusively Gallic event, think again. One of the greatest sporting shows on earth kicks off in Yorkshire this year, with Stage 1 bringing the cyclists from Leeds to Harrogate on July 5th. Stages 2 and 3 are also in the UK (York to Sheffield, then Cambridge to London) – so even if you don’t fancy following Sit Bradley Wiggins and co over to the other side of the Channel, you can get your fix of high-endurance drama. If you do make it across La Manche, remember can sort your car hire and hotels en France…

Commonwealth Games

July’s a pretty awesome month for sport this year. Rekindle the spirit of the Olympics with a trip to Glasgow for the XX Commonwealth Games. From grunting guys in Lycra to heartthrobs in swimming costumes, you’ll get all the drama with none of the travel hassles. The Games include everything from Lawn Bowls to traditional athletics. Take your mark…

There’s something for everyone in 2014’s sporting calendar. And can help with the cost of travelling to your favourite events. We get the cheapest train tickets when you book in advance, and you can also book your hotels and flights through us.
