Swansea Station (SWA)

Swansea railway station is on the High Street, in the heart of Swansea. It has 4 platforms, which are managed by Arriva Trains Wales. It serves both the South Wales Main Line and the West Wales Line. Swansea railway station is the fourth busiest in Wales.

Swansea is a terminus station, sitting on its own at the end of a branch leading from the two lines it serves. All trains into Swansea are either terminating trains, or return along the same branch to continue their journeys.

First Great Western run intercity services between London Paddington and Swansea. Most local services coming into Swansea are timetabled to allow passengers to make onward connections to London. Cardiff Central is served by an Arriva Trains Wales “Swanline” service, and Manchester Piccadilly is also served by Arriva Trains Wales.

Carmarthen, Pembroke Dock, Fishguard Harbour and Milford Haven are all served by Arriva Trains Wales. There is also a Heart of Wales Line service between Swansea, Shrewsbury and Llanelli. A boat train runs from Swansea to Fishguard (Arriva Trains Wales), which is timed to allow passengers to connect with the Stena Line ferry to Ireland.

Swansea has a wide selection of facilities, including refreshments, shops, cafes and waiting areas.
