Available from our website, Advance train tickets are quota controlled and require travel on the train and date specified. They are single tickets and booking earlier helps you find better deals.
Advance fares are single, one-way train tickets offering great value for money on many longer distance journeys.
These train tickets must be booked in advance, with fares sold in limited numbers, thus subject to availability. Advanced train tickets can be combined for a return journey, and the earlier you book the better the deal.
Advance fares can only be used on the date and train shown on the ticket, and are non-refundable. You can change the time or date of travel before departure of the first reserved train.
Any difference in fare and an administration fee will be applicable.
Child discounts apply for all advance train fares, and National Railcard holders get one-third off all Standard Class Advance fares. Passengers aged16 to 25, Senior, HM Forces and Disabled Persons Railcard holders also get one-third off all First Class Advance train fares.
