The automated Docklands Light Railway is an innovative railway service managed by Transport for London (TfL), which connects many areas of London to the redeveloped Docklands area.
Since its launch in 1987, the Docklands Light Railway has expanded to reach Stratford in North London, Lewisham in South London, Tower Gateway in West London and Beckton in East London, as well as Bank station for travellers heading into the City of London. The Docklands Light Railway is more than 19 miles long, incorporating 40 stations, and it carried more than 60 million passengers in 2006.
